PresidentBuck Hoskin Buck was
born in 1971 in Birmingham, AL, and was brought up in The First United Methodist
Church. Although Buck attended
church as a youth with his grandparents, he was not saved until 1993 after
hearing Ron Adema teach on salvation by grace through faith in the death,
burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:3-4)
Buck attended the Doctrinal Studies School of Biblical Theology in 1998
and completed studies in Major Doctrines of the Christian Faith and first year
Greek. Buck’s education was put
on hold in 1999 when he volunteered for military service in the United States
Army. After finishing basic
training, Buck was stationed at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, NC.
He graduated Airborne School in April of 2001, was selected to attend the
Special Forces Qualification Course in January of 2002, and awarded the Green
Beret as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant in November 2003 by the John
F. Kennedy Special Warfare Training Center and School.
Buck is a co-author of a book entitled Walk 51 that is distributed
for free to teenagers at youth camps in Alabama and Vacation Bible Schools in
Virginia. He teaches weekly Bible
Studies in North Carolina to youth and adults and has online Bible Studies with
groups from Alabama, Texas, and Australia.
His teaching experience includes: Marriage Seminars, Christian Youth
Leadership Conferences, Christian Youth Camps, Church Pulpits, Church Youth
Groups, Vacation Bible Schools, AWANA Christian Youth Clubs (Director, JV), and Community Bible Studies in Alabama,
Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Buck and his wife Heather have been
happily married for 12 years and have three children; Haley, Drew, and Shelby.
Buck will fulfill his military obligations in April 2006 and devote 100%
of his time to the service of our Lord as the President of CrossWord Bible
Ministries Inc. with one goal in mind; “Reaching the Community for
